The Royal Academy for Overseas Sciences (ROAS)
The Royal Academy for Overseas Sciences is a multidisciplinary forum. Researchers from the North and the South meet each other and tell themselves about their activities in a spirit of partnership. The Academy gathers high-level researchers and is an international reference with regard to scientific development. It performs its function through the activation of expertise networks, through publications and the organization of international conferences.
Some activities organized by the Academy are open to the public. These are particularly seminars or symposia dealing with a range of themes about overseas regions (Africa, Asia and Latin America), but it is also possible to participate in various competitions and prizes. In the Academy’s reference library, which is open to the public as well, not only its own publications (journal, monographs, collections) but also a whole series of books and periodicals acquired as part of exchange agreements with scientific institutions all over the world, may be consulted. The Academy’s publications can also be purchased.
