Belgian development cooperation agency (CTB-BTC)

BTC is Belgium’s development cooperation agency. As a public service provider, and on behalf of the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, BTC supports developing countries in their fight against poverty. BTC’s expertise in the field also enables it to provide services on behalf of other national and international organisations contributing towards the goal of sustainable human development.

BTC has been operational since April 1999 and is currently managing more than 230 programmes in 25 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. With a turnover in 2007 totalling €200 million, BTC employs 420 staff, 160 at its headquarters in Brussels and 260 in the countries where projects and programmes are being implemented. BTC has 24 representations abroad.
